Architecture in Formation, 2006

Espasso, the primary US liaison to Brazilian design, has gained continued exposure over the last decade. In 2006, Architecture in Formation converted a 6,000 SF garment-trade space in Tribeca into Espasso's Manhattan flagship showroom. The design of the space aims to assert a clear brand identity that does not compete with the extraordinary, mostly wood products. The main staircase linking to the showroom downstairs, dedicated to the work of Sergio Rodriguez, doubles as an amphitheater, informal seating area, and display platform, provoking various opportunities to experience these highly unique objects in unexpected ways, and a range of special events. Awards and Publications: 2006 Interior Design Magazine "Best of Year" Merit Winner- Showroom Published in NY Times, Interior Design, Vogue, Brazil Vogue, Wallpaper, among several others.
