The final resting place of Ulysses S. Grant and his wife Julia is the largest mausoleum in North America. It is a monument to a people's gratitude for the man who ended the American Civil War, and then, as President of the United States, strove to heal the nation. Special tours during OHNY Weekend will provide visitors with after-hours access to the memorial’s interior.

Sunday Tour Info: After-hours tours will last approximately 1 hr.

Access Notes: The mausoleum, or tomb, of Ulysses and Julia Grant is not wheelchair accessible.  Restrooms are only available at the visitor center, across the street from the mausoleum.

Reservations for this tour are now sold out. Interested in exploring the interiors of the city's grand Beaux-Arts monuments? You may also enjoy the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument, which will open its base to visitors, and requires no reservations! Click on the site’s name to check out its Open Access listing.
