Gowanus SuperFUN Canoe Voyages
2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
2:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Experience self-guided exploratory canoe voyages along the Gowanus Canal to view post-industrial buildings, abandoned shorelines, now colonized by wildlife and new developments. At our community dock, learn of our industrious past, present and future of a revitalized waterfront neighborhood that lines the Canal's shores. Owen Foote, RA, who has been advocating for Gowanus restoration and revitalization for 25 years, will lead a discussion of appropriate vs unfortunate waterfront planning to embrace and avoid. The site will have art on display in the boathouse and live graffiti art being created outside during OHNY.

Saturday & Sunday Tour Info: First-come, first-served canoe voyages will be offered on an ongoing basis throughout both days. (15-20 min)

Access Notes: Our on-water access is not Wheelchair accessible, low tide requires climbing for canoe use. In the event of rain, canoe voyages will be canceled, but the boathouse will still be open with art on view.
