Hotel 50 Bowery, a Joie de Vivre Hotel, celebrates the Chinatown neighborhood's distinct spirit and rich history through its design by Wimberly Interiors, a design studio of WATG, culminating in an immersive experience including 229-guest rooms, Atlantic Garden (5,000 sq. ft. outdoor terrace), The Gallery (Museum of Chinese in America curated gallery exhibit), and three culinary concepts including a rooftop bar, restaurant, and cellar level lounge.

Every urban neighborhood recalls the elements from those that came before while looking to the future and finding its own identity. Similarly, the materials used in Hotel 50 Bowery celebrate the cultural merging of the old and new city; inspired stripped down materials such as poured concrete and exposed brick, allow Asian-influenced furniture and bold artwork from Hong Kong graffiti artists to stand out and orient guests to the experience they will have. Subtle details bring to mind the influx of the new culture while authentically integrating the past. Original bricks from the foundation punctuate the lobby wall, perforated Corten steel screens evoke ancient Chinese landscape paintings, light fixtures give a nod to incense cones that hang from Asian temples, and exposed concrete reveals the evolution of the building, all harmonizing the old and new.
